Before You Date Again After Divorce… Read This.

Friend, I know what it feels like to want love again — to crave companionship after so much loss and silence.  After divorce, your heart wants to believe that a new relationship could ease the ache and make you feel whole again.  But here’s the truth most people won’t tell you: healing must come before dating — or you’ll just repeat pain in a different body.

When my marriage ended, I thought time alone would heal me. It didn’t.  I tried to fill the emptiness with busyness, with friendships, and eventually with dating. Everyone meant well — they just wanted me happy again. But I hadn’t yet faced my broken places, and every new date was like putting a fresh coat of paint over a cracked wall.

If you step into dating still wounded, you’ll choose from survival instead of peace. You’ll confuse comfort and feeling safe again with love. You’ll second-guess red flags, lower standards, and mistake attention for affection.

My brokenness attracted brokenness.

My people-pleasing looked like love.

And my loneliness disguised itself as readiness.

It took years — and God’s gentle patience — to show me that I wasn’t waiting on the right person, I was waiting on the healed version of myself so that I could recognize what was right for me.

But when you let God rebuild you first — your identity, your peace, your confidence — dating becomes something completely different.

You don’t seek to be chosen anymore.

You choose from wholeness.

Not Sure if You’re Ready Yet?

That’s okay. Most women aren’t sure — and that’s exactly why I made a free guide for you.

This quick heart-check will help you see where you are in your healing process.

It’s not a test — it’s a mirror.

Sometimes God uses moments like these to whisper, “Slow down, daughter. Let Me finish what I started.”

If you’ve been asking God for direction… this might be part of His answer.

Healing after divorce isn’t about becoming who you were before.  It’s about becoming who God always intended you to be.

When you’re ready, I’ll be here — with truth, tools, and gentle guidance to help you rise again. But for now, start here. Let’s see what your heart is telling you.

“Healing isn’t a race — it’s a rising.”
